Sheldon Wins Coveted Genii Award in Las Vegas

During the month of July, Sheldon Casavant attended three magic conferences and competitions in the United States and Canada. Each of these international conferences was attended by up to 1,000 delegates representing the magic community around the world.

The Society of American Magician's annual conference was held in Las Vegas, NV, where Sheldon took second place in the close-up magic competition. In addition, Sheldon was honoured with the 2003 Genii Award which is given "in recognition of great potential shown in a winning personality and performance in the field of the Magical Arts."

The International Brotherhood of Magician's annual conference was held in Kansas City, MI, where Sheldon competed in the close-up magic contest and was selected by the judges as a finalist in the Gold Cups competition.

Sheldon also attended the Pacific Coast Association of Magician's annual conference in Coquitlam, BC. Sheldon was awarded first place in the close-up magic competition for competitors under 18 years of age. In addition to this top honour, Sheldon ranked second among all close-up magic competitors.
